A Sign for Holyoke, MA I borrowed from the WWLP website.
I strongly considered living up to my post last week and not writing a Newsletter post this week, but…I have been good about catching up on the personal writing I needed to get done, and as I have said before I love writing this Newsletter. It’s become a good outlet and practice for me to keep.
Coming home after doing FanExpo Boston, and after working more than I ever have the last eight months was the right decision. I am proud of all the work I have done this year, and as I type this I am sending out proposals and waiting to hear back on other proposals for new projects so I am not without a comic writing assignment for much longer, but…I needed the break. I needed to touch grass. I needed to reconnect with old friends, watch movies with my brother, shoot the shit with my dad, and drive around with my mom.
My spiritual tank feels full again. There’s a restored balance that I lost. A lack of balance that didn’t allow me to be as proud of how much I have done this year as I should have been. I am proud of myself, I want more, but I need to appreciate what I have had. And I want to make the most of the last four months of this year and I intend to, and to do so from a place of positivity not from a place of “I haven’t done enough.”
So that’s where I am. Thanks for reading this, and thank you for the continued support.
As a reminder next Wednesday I have a story in EC’s Cruel Universe 2 #2 called “There’s An Alien In My Basement” written by me, drawn by the incredible Riley Rossmo, and colored by future legend Inaki Azpiazu. There are covers by Lee Bermejo, Tom Fowler, and Monteys. This is one of my favorite stories I have written yet, and I hope you will take the time to check it out, it would mean the world to me.

Until then?
Stay safe!
