LA Comic Con (October 30th-November 1st, 2026)

Hey, are you going to LA Comic Con from October 30th-November 1st, 2026 at the Los Angeles Convention Center? Well good news, friend, I will be there! Specifically I will be there at Artist Alley Table G04 in Kentia Hall. What’s the layout of Kentia Hall? Take a look below.

This will be my third year at LA Comic Con, I am very excited to go back, especially because the convention is the same week that Showdown concludes. Which means, this will be the first convention where I will have all five issues of Showdown for sale at my Artist Alley table, I will be selling full sets of the main covers of the series by Steve Lieber, full sets of the variant covers of the series by Tadd Galusha, and I will have a few copies of David Lapham’s fantastic issue one variant cover as well. This is on top of a large amount of trade paperbacks, anthologies, single issues, and hardcovers for other projects I have done over the years. If you already have Showdown or other projects I have done? Bring them and I will sign them. I do not sign for signatures, so you bring as much as you want, and I will sign all of it.

It’s also highly likely that a few days of the weekend I will be at my table alongside my convention partner in crime, and comic writing pal Chris Robinson. WHO BY THE WAY this week had a great feature-length story in Speed Racer: Tales from the Road #5 called “Frankenstein’s Dragster” drawn by Guillermo Sanna. If you missed it? You should go back to your comic store and get it.

So we are in agreement? You’ll buy this awesome Speed Racer comic and I will see you at LA Comic Con? Sounds good!

Five Weeks Left in LA (For the Year)

The Backyard of my Childhood Home in Winter. Courtesy of my Mom.

In about five weeks I am going to be going back to Western Massachusetts for the remainder of 2026. This is something I have been doing for the last few years. That gap between Thanksgiving and Christmas in Los Angeles was just getting too quiet for me. Heading home for six weeks gives me meaningful time with my family, I get to see all my friends I grew up with, I get to see a ton of movies and comic stores with my brother, and I get a healthy reset. It’s one of the best parts of working for myself/being freelance, I can go work from my childhood home for a few weeks and nothing is disrupted by it.

I will be writing a lot more about in the weeks ahead, especially with Showdown wrapping up, but this has been one of the best and busiest years of my life so far. While I am thinking a little more about 2027 than I would like, I’m trying to keep my feet firmly planted in 2026 because there’s a lot left to it, and a lot to celebrate/commemorate about it. It’s hard to slow down and take a bow, but as I get older it’s something I am actively trying to do more and more.

Also I will be doing a comic store signing in Massachusetts while I am back there, I should have the promo material for that ready to share soon. Between Showdown, Detective Comics Annual 2026, Justice League: Heroes of the Pitch, and DC’s Supergirl Next Door it felt like I had plenty of work come out this year to justify doing a hometown signing.

SHOWDOWN #5 IS NIGH

Showdown #5 Covers by Steve Lieber and Tadd Galusha. Showdown Created by Dave Wielgosz & Tadd Galusha. From Ignition Press.

Speaking of Showdown…Showdown #5, the final issue of my first creator-owned series, drawn and co-created by Tadd Galusha. Comes out at the end of the month on 10/28/26. I got my comps of the issue this week and I could not be happier with how we ended the story. Tadd drew the hell out of it, Triona Farrell’s colors are exceptional, and Clayton again ties the book together perfectly with his letters. I will be writing about the end of the book more in the week’s to come but I owe a great deal to Ignition Press, Jamie S. Rich, and Nora Ornstein for this book existing.

Well, that’s it for now my friends.

I will be back next week to talk a little more about Showdown coming to a close, and possibly about a few more comic book related appearances I will be making this year. There’s some cool stuff ahead.

Until then?

Stay safe!
